Bydgoszcz - 2.7.2008

We arrived in Bydgoszcz yesterday at about 5.oo p.m. and had dinner.  It seemed like a long drive from Szczecin.

A day trip to Toruń!

Toruń is a small town 100 km from Bydgoszcz, it is the birthplace of Nicholas Copernicus, one of the world's greatest astronomers. He was also a doctor, an architect and an artist. He was Polish but published his works in Latin like all the scientists at the time.

Copernicus was the first man to prove the Helio-Centric Theory placing the sun in the centre with all planets spinning around the sun and the sun staying in place.

We drove on a full day trip to Toruń with my mum's auntie and uncle. Toruń is also known for it's delicious gingerbread cookies which are coated in a rich layer of milk chocolate!

On the way back to Bydgoszcz, we went to an outdoor restaurant with freshly grilled meats like pork, beef, chicken, sausages and other local specialities!
